Giovanni Ferrara's Obituary
Giovanni Ferrara, 80, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019.
He was born in Palermo, Sicily on October 7, 1938.
He’s survived by his wife Nella, daughter Rosa, son Vincenzo and sister Angela.
He was a master tailor for many years in Italy and America. He had many famous clients he made suits for or altered clothes for including John Travolta, Andre The Giant, Pete Sampras, George Steinbrenner, Vinny Testaverde, Mike Alstott, The Glazer Family and Gayle Sierens.
He was the host of an Italian music radio show called L’ora Italiana (The Italian Hour) on WMNF in Tampa. He was very proud of his Italian heritage.
He was a fan of Italian soccer (his favorite team Palermo), Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Rowdies, professional wrestling and the RAI Italian network.
He loved his family and was especially proud of his granddaughter Jocelyn. He loved watching her at various music and acting performances.
Gravesite service will be held Tuesday, January 15th at 11am ET at Garden of Memories Cemetery at 4207 E. Lake Ave.
