Mr. Gilbert Morales' Obituary
MORALES, Gilbert, 88, native of Tampa FL passed away Feb. 22, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Mariano and Valentina Morales, sisters Olga Santiago (Robert), Zenaida Martinez
(Luciano), brother George Morales and great grandson Jackson Singletary.
Survivors include his wife Carmen Morales. They were married in 1950 at Our Lady
of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ybor City. Children Gilbert Morales Jr.
(Valerie), Loretta Bond (Joe), David Morales (Susie). Sisters Hilda Neeld,
Alice Thompson, Irene Acosta (Del), and sister-in-law Patsy Morales.
Grandchildren, Michael Morales (Katrina), Anne Singletary (Bennett), Elizabeth
Morales, Andrew Soom, Dylan Hodges, Austyn Hodges, Cory and Chris Bond. You
could always find Gilbert, cigar in hand, relaxing in his famous lawn chair to
lend an ear or give advice. 'Tio' wants his nieces and nephews to know; you are
all his favorites. Gilbert served during WWII in the U. S. Army with the first
peace occupation troop to enter Japan. He retired from the U. S. Postal Service
as an accountant and supervisor where he was best known as Tiger. The family
will receive friends on Thursday Feb. 26, 2015 from 12 to 2 PM, with funeral
services to follow at 2 PM at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave.,
Tampa, FL. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
contributions may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1711
11th Ave., Tampa, FL 33605.
