Mrs. Gertrude Roman Rodriguez's Obituary
RODRIGUEZ, Gertrude 'Trudy' Roman, departed this life on November 20, 2007. She was born February 5, 1931 in New York City and came to Tampa in the early 1950's, Her parents Felix and Antonia Roman, niece Cynthia Colon and dearest friend and 'cousin' Yolanda Ortiz Comas predeceased her. Her daughter Janet Rodriguez Collura (FJ), sons Jeffrey Max (Debbie), Bryan Philip (Vilma) and Wayne Charles, her three grandchildren: Michael James, Damara Lynn, Erica Michelle and her sister Aracelis Colon survive her. Many sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive her. Trudy retired from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office after 25 years where she had many friends especially Joan Rosen and Sylvia George. Recently her primary residence had been in Dade City where she leaves many friends. Trudy wished to be remembered as she was- 'never had an argument with anyone.' The family wishes to thank Dr. Chandra Bapna (who she adored), Myra and Sara, the staffs at St. Joseph's Hospital, Heritage Park Center, LifePath Hospice and Petra Zamora, her caregiver, for their excellent care. A Memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2PM on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, A.P. Boza Memorial Chapel, 4730 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa, FL. Those wishing to visit with the family before the service may arrive at 1PM. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Hillsborough County Public Library System (Thonotosassa Branch), Alzheimer's Family Organization or LifePath Hospice. Boza & Roel Funeral Home
