George O. Spinka's Obituary
SPINKA, George O., 84, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Geraldine (Jerry) Spinka; brothers, Warren, Mike, James, Leon, Stephen, John, and Alexander; sisters, Esther, Olga and Dorothy. He is survived by his children; son, Ron G. Spinka and wife Joan; daughter, Jerry Lynn Spinka; grandchildren, Lauren and Robert Spinka; family friend, Vicky L. Miller; brother Adam and sister Pearl and many nieces and nephews. He is a World War II veteran and was a chef at the Tampa, Hillsborough and Floridan hotels. Upon retirement he was an entrepreneur and operated Chef George Catering and George's Lawn and Landscaping Service. The family will receive friends for Visitation Friday, May 27, 2011 between 6 and 8 PM at St. Philip the Apostle Orthodox Church, 9100 El Portal Dr., Tampa, FL 33604. Divine Liturgy will be Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 10 AM at St. Philip the Apostle Orthodox Church followed by Interment at Sunset Memory Gardens, Thonotosassa. George had enormous pride in his grandchildren and in lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made in George's name to his beloved grandchildren, Lauren & Robert Spinka or St. Philip the Apostle Orthodox Church.
