It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Fulgencio Salermo, a man whose joy and laughter touched everyone he met. Born on November,27 1957, in Holguin, Cuba. George brightened the world with his infectious laugh,
sayings like “jiebareno….”, and a great smile.
A devoted husband to his beloved wife, Lourdes who he married on June 28, 1976, and celebrated 48 years of marriage. He was an adoring father to his three children, George, Stephanie, Jackie, and Grandson Max. George was the heartbeat of their family. Even on the toughest days, his playful spirit and endless support were unwavering, reminding everyone around him that love, and happiness were life's most precious gifts.
His zest for life extended to his hobbies as well. George loved to fish, playing dominoes, going to Disney, loved to eat all types of cuisines, going to movies, just to name a few. He also loved conversing with family, friends, and strangers. No one was a stranger around him. He always had a story to tell from his many life adventures with his dogs, cousins, brothers, and other family members.
Though he faced some health challenges in his later years, he never lost his infectious smile, or sense of humor. He showed unwavering positivity, comforting others even when he needed comfort himself.
George’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and kindness. He leaves behind a family forever blessed by his love, countless lives touched by his joy, and a community that will feel his absence deeply.
In honoring George's memory, his family asks that you remember the laughter you shared with him, the lessons he taught, and the love he so freely gave.
