Frederick Clarence Lawrence's Obituary
Fred Lawrence, age 88, of Tampa, died peacefully at home on October 16, 2024. He was born May 31, 1936, in Charleston, WV to Ethel Virginia Hill and Harold Lawrence. After high school graduation he served in the United States Marine Corps. His lifelong career was in the construction industry where he was a general contractor. On June 24, 2006, he married Christine Schofer at the Little Chapel of the West in Las Vegas, NV.
During his three-year military enlistment, he served on the Battleship USS Iowa as a Sergeant. He was a member of the Northdale Lutheran Church in Tampa, FL. He enjoyed many past times such as reading, snow skiing with his children, watching the Texas Longhorn football games and traveling the world. He was very friendly, and he never met a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his ex-wife and friend Mary Ann Lawrence of Georgetown, TX, and his beloved daughter, Pam Lawrence, of Austin, TX and daughter-in-law, Lisa Lawrence, of College Station, TX. He is survived by his loving wife Christine Lawrence of Tampa, FL; his son Barry Lawrence and daughter-in-law Esther Lawrence, of College Station, TX; son Alan Lawrence of Austin, TX; son Lee Lawrence and daughter-in-law Lisa Lawrence, of Georgetown, TX. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Lindsey Lawrence, of Austin, TX; Kelsey Lawrence-Jones of Austin, TX; Marin Lawrence of College Station, TX; Ryan Lawrence, of College Station, TX; Collin Lawrence of Denison, TX; Mackenzie Lawrence, of New York, NY; Jarrod Lawrence of Jacksonville, FL; and one great-granddaughter, Lorretta Ann Lawrence-Jones.
