Freddie Sal Fernandez's Obituary
Fernandez, Freddie Sal, 71, of Tampa, died November 17, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his Mother and Step-father, Mary and Sam Pullara; Siblings Sharon Bell, Debbie Rotolo (Steve) and Lisa Graham (David); Step-Brothers Jim Pullara (Mary) and Sam Pullara (Sheila); Great Aunt Violet Guastella; and many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his Father, Fred Fernandez, and his Grandparents. Freddie graduated from Plant High School in 1965, and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Freddie retired in 2005, after nearly 40 years with the Tampa Police Department as Evidence Supervisor. He was an avid sports enthusiast, and enjoyed reminiscing about his childhood pick-up games with the “McKay Panthers”. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Wednesday, November 22, at Boza and Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N Armenia Ave, Tampa. Visitation at 10 am, service at 10:30, with internment to follow at Myrtle Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Friends of Tampa Recreation, PO Box 173192, Tampa, FL 33672; Life Path Hospice or your favorite charity. “Freddie Bear” will be remembered for his love of family, determination and generosity. He will be in our hearts forever.
