Mr. Frank Santafemia's Obituary
Santafemia, Frank, 86 of Tampa, Florida, formerly of Scilla, Italy died Saturday, April 4, 2015 peacefully in his home surrounded by family. He is the son of Rocco Santafemia and Grazia Migliorino. He was born in Scilla, Italy and came to the United States at the age of 17. He moved to Tampa in 1948 and began working as a commercial fisherman. After marrying, he dedicated himself to supporting his family and often worked multiple jobs to provide for them. He owned a fish market on Armenia Avenue until he began his career in Hillsborough County Public Schools where he was the Supervisor of Furniture Refinishing when he retired. He was a giving man with a loving heart for all. He is remembered as one who gave much of himself to anyone in need. Family and friends knew how proud he was of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his constant companion, a Pomeranian named Lucy. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Santafemia; son, Frank Santafemia (Audrey) and granddaughters Ciara Cook (Jamie), Capri Santafemia, and Giana Santafemia (Chris) and great-granddaughters, Bella and Callie; son, Mark Santafemia (Carrie); daughter, Sheila Santafemia (Anna) and grandson, Eli; sister-in-law, Pauline Taormina and nephew Victor Taormina (Cece), all of Tampa, Florida. He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews and many other extended family members all of Italy. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015. The family will receive friends 9-10 am followed by a funeral service 10am at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave. Tampa, FL 33603. A graveside service will be held immediately after at L’Unione Italiana Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
