Frank Collura's Obituary
Frank Collura, age 91, passed away peacefully on Dec. 1, 2020. A first generation Tampa native, Frank grew up in Ybor City. He served in the United States Navy for four years during the Korean War. Frank was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Grace, whom he married in 1955. She preceded him in passing in 2006. The epitome of a family man, Frank was a wonderful father to his four children Kathleen Gail, Vincent Perry, Cheryl Lynn and Frank Stephen Collura. For many years, he worked two jobs to put them all through private school. He was employed for 30 years at Tampa Electric Co. A prolific inventor, Frank was a go-getter, a Mr. Fix-it and a jokester. Always the sharp dressed man, he will lovingly be remembered as matinee-idol handsome and as one hell of a dancer.
Along with his wife Grace, he was preceded in passing by his parents, Vincenzo and Maria, and his siblings, Josie, Larry and Steven. He is survived by his children, Kathleen (Kirk Barrios), Vincent, Cheryl, and Frank (Jean Wong-Collura), and his grandchildren, Talia and Nicholas Barrios, and Ryan and Nathan Collura. He leaves us with countless fond memories of the wonderful father, grandfather and human being he was. We were truly blessed to have him in our lives. A memorial will be held in his honor sometime in 2021 when his family and friends can gather together.
