Yes I am the sneaky brother and son, not only did I steal my sister Lola's crab meat but when I got older I stole Pipo's gas from his gas station so I could go race at night. Thanks Pipo I love you Alan
My Abuelo Frank had open heart surgery right before my Quinces(15 birthday party).I thought he was not going to be able to attend. To my surpise he put on his guavavera and insisted on going,he even danced a short song with me. It meant alot to me. Te Quiero Mucho!!!!
As a youngster in the 60's, I remember my father taking the family to go crabbing for blue crabs in the Tampa Bay waters and at Ballast Point Park at the end of Bayshore. That was back then when the waters were cleaner and you could actually get a good catch. His favorite meal he liked to cook for the family on Sundays was Crab Enchillado. While my mom took us to church he would stay home and slow cook the sauce all morning long & used the excuse to not go to church that he needed to continually stir it, so it wouldn't stick. Once we arrived from church the table would be set with the usual daily newspaper, so it could just be rolled up with all the empty crab shells when we were finished eating. My brother Alan is nine years older then me and of course much sneakier then me. He would wait until I had pain stately cleaned out a few crabs and would swing by and grab a forkful of my crab meat! Anyone that has eaten blue crabs, knows it takes allot of effort to get the meat out, after a couple of times of loosing my treasure to my pillaging pirate of a brother, I wised up and kept an eye on him like a hawk! To this day my favorite food to eat is Crab enchillado, crab cakes and the Ybor City famous Devil crab!
