Frances Josephine D'Arpa Carmichael's Obituary
Frances J. Carmichael age 76 passed away on the afternoon of April 23,2016 surrounded by her family. Frances was born in Tampa, Fl. to Frank and Rose D'arpa. She was of pure Sicilian decent. She attended MacFarlane Elementary for grade school and then West Tampa Junior High. Her High School years were at Thomas Jefferson High School where she played the french horn in band. She would tell you proudly that she could still remember all the words to her Alma Mater. Frances graduated from National Beauty School as a Beautician. She would eventually have a salon out of her home. Frances married Samuel Gregory Carmichael and they had three children,. She raised her children just around the corner from where she grew up. Frances would tell people," We are the big house across the street from the swings in MacFarlane Park.” Frances loved having all her children's friends over for dinner and sleepovers. She was the first to volunteer her time to any of her children's causes like school field trips. Frances gave unconditional love to all her children and grandchildren and all her life long friends. She was there for them even if it meant she had little time for herself. Pasta Sundays and Holidays were always special and it was her way of showing her family she loved them. Frances was generous to a fault. She had such a great sense of humor. Everyone that knew her would say that she was a strong Christian woman. Frances was preceded in death by both her parents Frank and Rose D'arpa. She will be dearly missed by her children Karen Marie, Frank David (Susan Carmichael), and Terri Lynn (Michael Gonzalez), her grandchildren Meredith, Trey, Christian, Kelly, Dane, and Michael, her great grandchildren Jett, Skye and Harlan. Pallbearers are David Carmichael, Trey Orihuela, Dane Orihuela, Michael Gonzalez, Frank D'arpa, and Rick Sola. Honorary pallbearers are Frank Napoli,Wesley Rice, John Jerome Ryals, and Guy D' Arpa. Services will be performed by her life long friend Pastor Joe Diaz. Funeral Services will be Tues May 3rd 2016 at 11am at Church of the Holy Spirit 601 Philippe Parkway, Safety Harbor 34695 Graveside ceremony 1pm at Woodlawn Cemetery on 3412 N. Ola Ave. Tampa.
