Florida Electra Pulphus' Obituary
Florida Electra Pulphus was born to the late Samuel and Nellie Evans in Chicago, Illinois on November 8, 1923. Sister Pulphus was the eldest of two children.
She was educated in the Chicago School System where she met and later married the love of her life, Edward Pulphus, Sr. From this union was born nine children, whom they adored.
She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Evans, mother, Nellie; brother Samuel Evans, Jr; son Edward Pulphus, Jr. and two daughters.
Sister Pulphus worked for 30 years as a clerk in the U.S. Postal System in Chicago, Ill. After retirement in 1985, she and her husband moved to Tampa, Florida and immediately united with Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. She was a Deaconess, and actively participated in the Golden Ministry Program, Shared Food Program, and sang in Choir #2.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons: Darnell E. Pulphus and Frederick Pulphus; daughters: Arletha B. Housmah, Irene P. Bedford, Amy Garner, and Deborah F. Martin, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Calling hours will be 6pm - 8pm, Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at Boza and Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave, Tampa, Fla. 33603. A Home going Celebration will be held, 12 noon, Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, 2606 West Grace Avenue, Tampa, Fla. 33607.
