Dearest Carol and Family, I am genuinely saddened by the passing of "Mama P", my term of endearment for her. My Dad and I went to my brother Rich's home in New York for the Thanksgiving Holiday and did not return until December 5th, so I was unaware of your time of need. Your Mom enriched my life in so many ways!! The kindness she extended me while living next door in Mrs. McCluskey's backyard apartment was life-altering for me. Her unconditional love and support contributed immensely to the woman I finally became. Her pearls of wisdom have been heard numerous times when faced with difficult decisions. I admired her insight when assessing demanding situations involving emotionally charged people. But most importantly, her nurturing ways influenced my parenting style a great deal. She was my guiding light in developing a velvet glove for motivating a willful, yet incredibly talented young lady. And in the end, your Mom's grace and dignity carried me through Gina's passing in January, 2013 and my Mom's death in December, 2012. Carol, your Mom was the epitome of strength and confidence, and I will never forget her. I will have masses said for both your parents at St, Mary's Catholic Church on North Boulevard; that's my current parish. All my love,
