Fernando Llana Jr.'s Obituary
On October 8, Fred Llana, 59, died of heart failure in Gainesville, Fl where he lived with his family for 26 years. He is survived by his wife, Michelle Springer-Llana, daughter, Heather (Llana) Williams and his two Grandsons, Nathan and Silas, daughter, Natalie Nicole Llana, son, Fernando Raphael Llana, sister Orchid (Llana) Torres, her husband Joe and their two children. He is mourned by special friends Gabriel Luchetta, Richard Leach, Christina Hoyt, and members of his band Dangerous Dave and the Derelicts. Fred was preceded in death by his parents Fernando & Hilda (Mendez-Vigo) Llana and his first wife Martha (Escabedo) Llana. Fred was a descendant of Spanish Sailors and had a lifelong love of the sea. He was an exceptional fisherman of both salt & fresh water. He was an excellent percussionist, chef, traveler, and storyteller. He had a memorable personal character and will not be forgotten. His expertise was in blood gas technology where he practiced many years in pulmonary/respiratory at St. Joe's Hospital in Tampa and at the lab at Shands Hospital in Gainesville for the last 25 years. Services will be held at Boza & Roel in Tampa, Fl on October 13. Viewing will be 9-11am with a closed casket service at 11am. Donations to the American Heart Society made in his honor are appreciated.
