Felicia "Phyllis" Leto Traina's Obituary
TRAINA, Felicia "Phyllis" Leto, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 29, 2011. She was a lifelong resident of Tampa. She was preceded in death by her husband Americo "Mac" Traina, her parents Rosario and Josephine Leto, and her brother, Carlo "Charlie" Leto. Survivors include her four children, Maria Bartolotti ( Rick), Loretta Campo (Manuel), Dr. Joseph Traina, Cecilia "Cissy" Feinberg (Greg); three grandchildren, Maria Elise Campo, Gian Traina, Anthony Traina, her sister, Maria Pasetti, her brothers-in-law, Louis (Cathy), Ernest (Sylvia), and James (Kathy) Traina and many loving nieces and nephews. Phyllis owned and operated Mac Traina Interiors for over 30 years, many of those years in Ybor City. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. She was elected the first and only woman president of L'Unione Italiana and as a member of the Italian Club, she served on the Ladies Auxiliary as well as the Cemetery Committee. She was among the first recipients of the Italian-American Women of Excellence. The family expresses special thanks to Diane Abney for her loving care, to the staff of Visiting Angels and to the Coral Team of LifePath Hospice. A Funeral Mass for the repose of her soul will be celebrated at 11:15AM on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 1711-11th Ave. East, Tampa. Celebrant will be Fr. Thomas Stokes. Entombment will follow at L'Unione Italiana Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Maria Elise Campo, Gian Traina, Anthony Traina, Rick Bartolotti, Manuel Campo, Greg Feinberg, AJ Menendez, and Emilio Toro. Contributions may be made in Felicia's memory to the Italian Club Cemetery, P.O. Box 5054, Tampa, FL 33675 or LifePath Hospice, 3010 West Azeele St. Tampa, FL 33609. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at the Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa, FL.
