Eric Van Wilt's Obituary
WILT, Eric Van born June 10, 1952 on Mitchel AFB Hempstead NY into a USAF military family. With his family he lived in New York, Bermuda, New Jersey, Germany, Massachusetts and finally Tampa. Eric graduated from USF American studies. Adding a computer science degree he worked in several local banks until he joined Tech Data 17 years ago. For 16 months he fought heroically and stoically the wrath of both multiple myeloma and chronic renal disease. Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 8:20 PM, Eric Van Wilt, artist, avid reader, and lover of the ocean, son of Henry Lee (deceased) and Louise Wilt, father of Jason, brother of Kurt (Denise), Mark (Jackie), Glenn (Andrea), left his body to be with his beloved wife, Jean, in Heaven. He is also survived by in-laws Mary and Ray Scott, Loren and Sue Scott, and Suzanne Scott Marlow, nieces Emily Connell, Yasmine Wilt and Lauren Wilt Versluis, nephews Kevin wilt, Josh Marlow and Justin Versluis, friends extraordinaire: Robert, Jamie, Bruce, Jim, Mike and Cheryl, you made his journey so much easier. The family extends our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Rand Altemose; Melissa Carver, ARNP and the wonderful staff members at Florida Cancer Specialists. Dr. Alison Calkins and staff at Fred J. Woods Radiation Therapy Center; Dr. J. Navarro and Fresenius Dialysis Center and to everyone at LifePath Hospice who touched our lives with their loving manner. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to LifePath Hospice or the charity of your choice. Graveside services will be held at 12PM on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
