Eliecer Hernandez's Obituary
Eliecer "Elio" Hernández Fernández of Tampa, Florida, celebrated the end of his life on September 28th, 2017, at age 81. Elio was born in Bejucal, Havana, Cuba, in 1935 and lived in West Tampa for 50 years. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Haydée Hernández Sánchez; by his three children, Aymée Hernández, Niurka Hernández Cleveland and her husband Joel, and José Hernández and his wife Susan. Elio is also survived by his grandchildren, Jordan Valdés, David Hernández, Michael Hernández, Audrey Cleveland, Camile Cleveland and Victoria Hernández, by one brother, Diego Hernández Fernández, and many nieces and nephews.
Elio was iconic in the West Tampa community to which he gave so much. He was best known for his storytelling, relentless work ethic and his unforgettable sense of humor. Elio's dedication and commitment to his family were matched only by the insatiable generosity of his spirit. His family adored him, and his light will forever shine within us. The Family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 PM at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be offered for the Repose of his Soul, Friday morning 9:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3012 West Cherry Street. Interment will follow at a later hour in Trinity Memorial Gardens.
