Dorothy R Fernandez's Obituary
Dorothy Fernandez 96, of Tampa Florida passed away peacefully at home, in the early morning hours on Sept 8th after a very full, love filled life. She was born on Oct 9th 1928 in Lugoff, South Carolina to Frank and Daisy Jackson.
Dorothy, known as Dottie by those that loved her most, was a devoted mother, Grandmother, Aunt, and best friend. Dottie was known for her genuine smile, warm heart and unwavering humor. She never met anyone she didn’t like. She worked for over 35 years for GTE, General Telephone and Electronics which was the largest independent telephone company in the United States. She never met a word find she didn’t like. She was also a Yahtzee champion amongst her family.
She is survived by her 2 wonderful daughters, Sandy and Angela, grand daughters Olivia and Gianna, many nieces, nephews and their children and wonderful friends. She was one of 5 sisters affectionately known as The Jackson Five. She will be missed by her family and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Boza and Roel Funeral Home, 4730 North Armenia Ave, Tampa, Fl. On Sept 16th 2025. The family will receive friends between 1:00p and 2:00pm, a funeral service at 2:00pm, and then we will traveling to the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
