Dora V. Romero's Obituary
ROMERO, Dora Vasquez, 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones, Thursday, September 27, 2012. Dora was a lifetime resident of Tampa, she loved and cared about her family. A member of the National Association of Women in Construction for 45 years, the Tampa Women's Club, The Sword of Hope Guild of the American Cancer Society. Dora and Ray, her late husband, owned and operated Westshore Hardware and Modern Paint and Wallpaper Co. Dora always found time for others, giving to charities, sewing, knitting, crocheting baby blankets, pillows, Christmas Aprons and more. She always gathered clothing and needy items for the Migrant workers, unwed mothers and charities. She loved to travel and through the years has seen the world. She was predeceased by her husband of 74 years, Reinaldo Romero, who passed away 3 1 1/2 years ago, parents Luis Vasquez and Antonia Ramirez Castillo, brothers Luis, Armando, Evelio Vasquez. She is survived by her son Nelson Romero (Margie); nephews Richard Vasquez (Norma), Armando Vasquez, Jr., Michael Vasquez (Terry), Chris and Joey Vasquez, Bert Ramos (Joan), Clifford Ramos, Jimmy Alvarez, Glenn Alvarez (Judy), Randy Ferlita (Christina), Ronald Vasquez (Janet), Edward Vasquez (Minnie), nieces Loretta Castillo, Catherine Vasquez, Marie Frye (Charles), Becky Diaz, Peggy Corday, Irene Bruno (Tony), Donna Kroegel, sister in law Lilia Barrosa and cousins Laura Enriquez, Martha Barroso and many grand nieces and nephews, her many friends, who loved her dearly and her loving caretaker Elizabeth Del Valle. The family will receive friends for Visitation, Friday, October 5, 2012 between 1 and 2 PM at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 North Armenia Avenue, Tampa. Services will begin at 2 PM at the funeral home Friday followed by Interment at Centro Espanol Memorial Park.
