Dora Pardo's Obituary
PARDO, Dora Cacciatore, died in Tampa, Florida, August 28, 2013 in her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Downey, California, August 27, 1922 and raised in Ybor City, Tampa, Florida. She was preceded in death by her father, Giuseppe Cacciatore of Alessandria della Rocca, Sicily, her mother, Carmela Diecidue of Cianciana, Sicily, her husband of 55 years, Vincenzo (Jimmy) Pardo and her sister, Annie Cacciatore Lopez. Survivors include her son, Vincent J. Pardo (Jan), grandson, Vincent (Enzo) Pardo (Maria), grandson, Greg Woodard (Kim), granddaughter, Jonna Woodard, niece, Rosanna Campisi Marrocco (John), niece, Carolyn Campisi DiNicola (Joe), nephew, Angelo Pardo, Jr. (Sandy), brother-in-law, Dr. Angelo Pardo, brother-in-law, Frank Lopez and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dora grew up in Ybor City and graduated Hillsborough High School in 1940. She was employed by the U.S. Draft Board (5 years), Harris Paint Co. (14 years) and the city of Tampa (17 years) where she retired in 1985. After her retirement, she volunteered for the Italian Club daily for 11 years and maintained the Club's cemetery records. She was a passionate volunteer and held office in several volunteer organizations including the Palm River Elementary School PTA, Cub Scouts, St. Cecelia Church and the Palm River Volunteer Fire Department which she and her husband helped organize in 1952. The family wishes to thank the following caregivers: Rosa Polo, Donna Echard, Charlene Robinson, Wanda Bishop, Teesh Hart and the Hospice Blue Team. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Italian Club Cemetery, P. O. Box 5054, Tampa, FL 33675 or the Hospice Blue Team c/o LifePath Hospice, 3010 W. Azeele St. , Tampa, FL 33609. Pallbearers include: Vince (Enzo) Pardo, John Marrocco, Joe DiNicola, Frank Lopez, Angelo Pardo, Jr. and James Greco. A Funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013 at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa, FL with Msgr. Laurence Higgins officiating. Entombment will follow in the Italian Club Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM at the funeral home chapel.
