Adams, Donald F., “Don”, 95 of Tampa, originally from Louisville, Kentucky passed away September 13, 2018. He is predeceased by his lovely bride of 54 years, Ernestine LeGendre Adams. Don is survived by his beloved family, his son, Mike (Shirley) Adams; granddaughters, Stacy Adams-Fuston and Shelley (Eric) Slepp; great grandchildren, Alexis Fuston, Colten Fuston and Stephen Slepp; his favorite sister, Emily (Homer) Martinez; and his dear caregiver, Annie Artis. Our family is forever grateful for the love and endless care that Shirley and Annie gave him.
Don proudly served as a Sgt. in the Army Air Corp during WWII, retired the first time from Chrysler Group as a District Manager and then again from Adams & Jennings Funeral Home as Chief Operating Officer. He was honored to be a Kentucky Colonel, Shriners, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a part of The Optimist Club of Seminole Heights, American Legion Post 111 and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 424. He was proud of his volunteer work with the Shriners for children.
His incredible life was filled with adventures, an immense love for his family, big bands, horses, horse racing and was known to a make a bet or two. Don will be best remembered for sharing his wisdom, his sense of humor and his opinion (even if you didn’t want to hear it). The family will receive friends, Sunday, September 23, 2018, 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Boza & Roel Chapel. Don will be laid to rest 11:00am, Monday next to his wife in Serenity Meadows Memorial Park.
