Demetrio Rivera's Obituary
Demetrio Rivera, 78, of Tampa, Florida went to be with the Lord Monday, May 15, 2023. Demetrio was born on December 22, 1944 in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico. He met the love of his life Ana in Hoboken, New Jersey where they began their family. They were blessed to be married for 61 years and moved to Tampa, Florida in 1985 where they remained close to family and friends. Demetrio worked for The City of Tampa where he retired after 25 years of dedication. He loved tinkering around, home projects, baseball, reading and keeping up with current events. He wrote poetry and songs for the church where he found much peace with his wife Ana. He was always willing to share his knowledge of home improvement with his children and grandchildren. Demetrio always was willing to lend a hand to family, friends, neighbors and his church whenever needed with no hesitation.
He was predeceased by his daughter Doreen Lyvers and his brother’s Danny and Harry. He is survived by his loving wife Ana Rivera, his son Dwight Rivera, and his daughter Diana Nieves, and 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren. He leaves his siblings Carmen, Julie, Ester (Felix), Nancy (Pastor Juan), Inocencia, and Luis Rivera. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Boza & Roel Funeral Home with visitation from 1-2pm, with church services from 2-3pm at the funeral home with the burial following immediately at Woodlawn Cemetery in Tampa, Florida where he will be laid to rest.
