Daniel F. Martinez's Obituary
Martinez, Daniel F "Danny," 87, passed away peacefully at home Thursday,
February 1, 2018. Born July 26, 1930 in Ybor City he was predeceased by
his parents David and Mary Martinez and his brother Victor J Martinez, MD.
Danny is survived by Ann his wife of 66 years; his 3 children Danise S
Martinez, DVM (Michael Walsh, DVM), David J Martinez (Delfa), Daniel F
"Danny" Martinez II, Esq (Joyce); his six grandchildren Meghan M Morton
(Logan), David J "DJ" Martinez (Alma), Daniel F Martinez III (Alicia), Andrew
A "Drew" Martinez, DVM, Derek M Martinez, and William A Allison II; and
his two great-granddaughters Aurora E and Gabriela I Martinez, he is also survived by his sister-in-laws, Mary Lee Smith and Aline Martinez, nephew Victor D. Martinez, JD, niece Kathy Martinez, JD, along with many other loving family members and friends.
Danny graduated from the University of Florida in 1953 and has been a
proud lifelong Gator. Besides enthusiastically supporting and promoting
the Gators he worked with the McKesson/ Premier Beverage Company for
40 years. He was one of five original founders of the Krewe of the Knights
of Sant' Yago and their 14th King, in addition to being a member of the Ybor
City Rotary Club, Masonic Lodge #178, an original "Tampa Banana," and
numerous other civic associations.
Danny was a friend to many and always was there to help get things done.
His favorite singer was Frank Sinatra and just like the famous line, "I did it
my way" from his song "My Way", Danny always did it "His Way".
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, February 6 from 6 pm until 8 pm
at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 North Armenia Ave, Tampa 33603.
Graveside Services will be held Wednesday February 7 at 11 am at Centro
Espanol Memorial Park Cemetery, 4601 E Lake Ave, Tampa 33610 .
