Claudine Teijido's Obituary
De La TORRE TEIJIDO, Claudine
went to the Lord at her residence in Regal Palms,
Largo, FL on January 12, 2017 at the age of 98.
Claudine is survived by her faithful companion
Sparky; sister-in-law, Shirley De La Torre; a
niece, Irene De La Torre; and two nephews, Chris
(Colleen) De La Torre and Daniel Teijido. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Teijido; a brother
Robert De La Torre, as well as Jose Rego, and Mercedes Rego
De La Torre.
Claudine was born on November 8, 1919 in Bauta, Cuba. She
immigrated to the United States at the age of eight. She attended
local elementary and high school in Tampa. In her youth,
Claudine loved to dance at the Cuban Club where she met her
husband Ralph. She was married August 16, 1944 in Tampa.
She was employed for over 25 years in the Tampa Cigar industry
and also worked with her husband in their accounting
business for over 20 years.
Claudine was an avid collector of dolls and was an active
gardener. She will always be remembered for her style and
love for shopping. Claudine was loved by all those that met her
for her independence, quick wit, and willingness to help. Her
ability to grow and revive orchids and Christmas Cactus were
recognized by others as a signature trait. In her later years
Claudine enjoyed traveling and made multiple trips to Indiana
and her life-long bucket list destination of Argentina.
Funeral services will take place at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730
N. Armenia Ave., on Saturday, January 20 between 1 and 3
pm. Interment will be on January 25 at Garden of Memories at
10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent
to Suncoast Hospice Care Center, North 164 West Lake Rd.,
