Clara M Perez's Obituary
Clara M. Perez, a vibrant soul, full of warmth and resilience, passed away at the age of 74. Born in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba, on March 18th, 1949, to Jose M. Perez and Clara M. Perez, she imbued her life with a robust spirit that extended to all those around her. On July 28th, 1969, she embarked on a bold journey, immigrating to the United States and beginning a new chapter of her life.
Clara shared an undying love and companionship with her life partner, Kathy Ulrich, for 45 memorable years until Kathy’s passing in September 2021. Together, they created a life full of joy and adventure, fishing in Key West, exploring the breadth of the States, and playing poker.
Beginning her career as a Biomedical Field Engineer at GE for over 20 years, Clara demonstrated her technical aptitude and dedication. She later served her community, joining the Hillsborough County School District as a beloved bus driver until her retirement, bringing smiles to the faces of countless children over the years.
In her kitchen, Clara was an artist. She was renowned for her Cuban culinary expertise, particularly her black beans. Clara’s cooking exceeded all expectations, often surpassing the finest restaurants. Her love for cooking was a tangible expression of her affection for her loved ones, providing comfort and enjoyment in each meal.
Clara's life was marked by an unyielding love for her family and her dogs. She now joins her parents, her aunt, her lifelong partner Kathy, and her beloved dogs, Lady, Casey, and Nicky, in heaven.
Clara leaves behind her sister, Analina J. Micheletti (Aldo), and her brother, Jose M. Perez (Dory), who will continue to uphold her legacy. Her nieces, Analina Medina (Julio) and Jennifer Gonzalez (David); her nephew, Joseph Perez (Mozhdeh); her grand-nieces, Alexiana Medina, Sofia Perez, and Remi Gonzalez; and her grand-nephews, Joseph Perez Jr. and Liam Gonzalez will remember her as an inspirational figure in their lives. Her dog, Reba, will undoubtedly miss her loving presence.
Clara M. Perez was a beacon of love, kindness, and vitality. Her spirit remains alive in the hearts of those she touched. We remember her today for her strength, her joyous spirit, and the rich legacy she leaves behind. May she rest in peace, and may her memory continue to inspire us all.
