Charles William Barrass' Obituary
Charles William Barrass: 10/22/1932 - 10/05/2016
Dad led by action & example, not words. "Bill" was strong, independent,
thoughtful, humble & very private.
Born in a coal mining town in WV, he grew up very poor. After serving in the
Air Force, he put himself through college & went on to run the auditing
agency at Macdill Airforce Base In Tampa, FL for 35 years, never missing a
single day of work.
He lived his life with a great sense of gratitude & was an excellent judge
of character. The only things he was intolerant of were laziness &
disrespect. He had a great sense of humor and regularly gave me grief for
wearing ripped jeans.
His first 82 years of life were lived in perfect health - no illness,
disease or hospital visits.
His final year in 2016 was turbulent. Yet he remained strong & vigilant
through it all, fighting a long & difficult battle with amazing fortitude.
He was a blessing in my life, and to the lives of all his family, friends &
neighbors.
I am so proud of you, Dad. Rest in peace.
With Love & Gratitude,
Barbara
