Ceferino Fernandez's Obituary
FERNANDEZ, Ceferino Locicero, 96, native and lifelong resident of Tampa, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years Violet Torres Fernandez. He is survived by his children, Sylvia Fernandez, Esther De La Torre (Albert), John D. Fernandez, Anthony M. Fernandez (Jennifer); 8 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; many Nieces, Nephews and Friends. Mr. Fernandez was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Navy in WWII, first in the Atlantic and after Pearl Harbor in the Pacific theater until the end of the war. Born in his beloved Ybor City, Mr. Fernandez, during his lifetime, was a member of the Centro Asturiano and L’Union Italiana. The family would convey their appreciation for the dedicated care rendered to Mr. Fernandez in recent years by Alimar ALF and Dr. Dennis Pupello. The family will receive friends for Visitation Monday, March 30, 2015 between 10 and 12 noon at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 North Armenia Avenue, Tampa. Services will begin at 11:30 AM at the funeral home followed by Interment at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
