It was New Orleans where she met Victor as he frequented the grocery/cafe where she worked, on his way through town transporting produce. Soon after they married, Katie was transplanted to the Tampa area to be near Victor and his family, where they were a part of the family's Orange Front Market venture on Nebraska Avenue for many years and partners in Florida Fruit and Vegetable Exchange. Katie also ran the family owned-and-operated Campisi and Sons Meat Market on 40th Street. After raising her children and Victor's passing, Katie went on to serve the children of Riverhills Elementary School in Temple Terrace as the head baker "lunchroom lady" for 18 years until she retired. She enjoyed cooking and feeding the children and often reminisced about her and the other ladies making the hot lunches from scratch, right down to the sandwich buns. Katie is a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge #1251 in Tampa, and was a very active member for many years. The family will receive friends for Visitation Friday, April 19, 2013 between 6 and 8 PM at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 North Armenia Avenue, Tampa.
