Carrie Martinez's Obituary
Carrie (Caridad) Bustamante Martinez (Chipi) 91, passed away peacefully to Heaven on August 7, 2020. Born and raised in Ybor Tampa, attended V.M.YBN Elementary and OLPH Catholic School, the youngest of six siblings who predeceased her. " A beautiful decent woman who never said an unkind word to anyone she knew or met." Carrie was married on her 19th birthday, July 25, 1948 at OLPH Catholic Church to Ovidio Martinez. "Chipi" as she was known loved her Spanish soap operas, "flan" and pizza were her very favorite! Gifts came from her heart crocheting beautiful pillow cases she gave to her family, through the years after raising her children our mother cared for her grand children and friends she knew always helping those in need. Her favorite enjoyment were her Spanish soaps, her many old T.V. shows and playing rummy! Predeceased by her mother Carmen Bustamante (Cuca), Ovidio Martinez her husband of over 60 years, and great grand daughter; Emma Vasquez. Carrie is survived by her three children; Linda Joyce (Martinez) Mannone, Elizabeth (Caruso) Martinez, and Juan Amado Martinez. Seven grand children; Maria D. Mannone, Vito A. Mannone, Tara E. Vasquez (John), Johnny V. Martinez, Gianna L. (Mannone) Keck (Johnny), Christopher R. Caruso, and Bryan P. Martinez. Nine Great-Grandchildren; Selena D. Mannone (Joshua), Tyler J. Vasquez (Juliee), Alissa Martinez (Marco), Kayla R. Martinez, Matthew J. Kausch (M.J.), Lennon M. Ehlers, Jaxton Loy, Carter Martinez, Ava L. Mannone, and Timothy Cook. Three Great-Great-Grandchildren; Sophia Mannone, Josiah Nogueria, and Marco Navarro. Her dearest childhood friend of many years "Pearl Gonzalez." Our beautiful mom will dearly be missed! Heaven has another "angel," till we meet again. There will be a visitation on Friday, August 21st, 2020 at 12:00pm and service at 1:30pm with burial to follow at Marti-Colon Cemetery. The pallbearers for the service will be Juan A. Martinez, Christopher Caruso, John Vasquez, Tyler Vasquez, Johnny Keck, Matthew Kausch, Bryan Martinez, and Johnny Martinez. Eulogy by Chris Caruso.
