Caridad O Alarcon's Obituary
Alarcon, Caridad O. passed away Aug. 25 to join Louis, her departed, beloved husband. She was born in 1925 in Ybor City where her family worked in Tampa's cigar industry. Carrie attended local schools and was employed at Tampa Cub Cigars and the Corral Wodiska factory before she resumed being a full-time homemaker. Although Louis Alarcon was a public school teacher, he and Carrie worked hard to give their children a Catholic education. Caridad devoted herself to relatives and friends, cooking Sunday and holiday dinners for her children even after they married and moved to other parts of Tampa. Survivors include her children: Louis D. Alarcon, Daniel (Gladys) Alarcon Sr., Helen (Jerry) Gordillo, and Rosenda (Tom) Flynn. Grandchildren: Louis D. (Robyn) Alarcon Jr., Suzanne Alarcon, Daniel (Frances) Alarcon II, Michael (Tracy) Alarcon, Andrea and Jason (Samantha) Gordillo, Maria, Tara and Joseph Flynn. Great-grandchildren: Louis D. III, Lena and Catalina (Connie Beggs) Alarcon, Daniel Ryan, Christina, Nicholas and Logan Alarcon, Aiden and AnnaLucia Osterberg, and Madelin Gordillo. Great-great-grandchild Lelianna Alarcon. Visitation for Caridad Alarcon will be held Tuesday Sept. 7, at 6 pm with memorial service at 7-8 pm at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N Armenia Ave., Tampa. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday Sept. 8, at 10:30 am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 9715 N 56th St., Temple Terrace. The graveside ceremony will be held at at 12:15 pm at Orange Hill Cemetery, 4900 E. Chelsea St., Tampa.
