Brenda Joyce Martin's Obituary
Brenda S. Martin went home to spend eternity with her Savior Jesus Christ on November 28, 2012. A Tampa native, she was born on July 1, 1946 at Tampa Municipal Hospital (Tampa General) to Elton and Louise Smith. She was a graduate of Brewster Vocational High School in 1963 where she studied cosmetology and received her master certification. After many years of making the ladies of South Tampa look their best, she began working at USAA where she did so for over 25 years, starting as a file clerk and working her way to Senior Policy Representative. She was married to the love of her life, Lew, in 1970. After three years of marriage, Lew and Brenda welcomed daughter, Traci Marie Martin, in 1973. After Lew's passing in 1985, Brenda, following the Lord's guidance, raised Traci as a single mom showing what a strong woman she was. Brenda is best remembered for living her life in the model of Christ. She was always willing to help people who were down and to give without reservation to those in need. Whether with time, money or a friendly ear, she did this because she loved them.
