Barbara Colon's Obituary
Barbara Rodriguez-Colon, 71, of Tampa, Florida, went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 14, 2020 at 10:23pm EST at Kindred Hospital. She was born on December 23, 1948, to Leoncio Colon and Esther Mendez in New York City, New York. Barbara attended Cornell University and graduated with her Associates in Business Management. She married her childhood sweetheart Anthony “Tony” Rodriguez on November 24, 1996 and later widowed on September 24, 1999. Barbara had two children, Benjamin Jimeniz and Brax McDonald. She worked in the Health Care Industry and retired from Beth Israel Hospital.She had a passion for music and art. During her marriage to Tony she partnered with him promoting Latin music at The Maganette in midtown Manhattan. Barbara is the last of her 5 siblings and is survived by her 2 children, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 5 nieces and 2 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; many friends and relatives; and her husband.
Funeral Services & Celebration of Life will be July 30, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm ET at Boza & Roel Funeral Home in Tampa, Florida with Pastor Clarence Johns Sr. Officiating.
Inurnment at Saint Raymond Cemetery in Bronx, New York and due to CoVID19 is being deferred to a future date and will be announced.
