Mr Azad F. Sarian's Obituary
SARIAN, Azad, "Fred," 88, of Tampa, passed away December 23, 2006. He was born to Hrant and Rose Sarian on December 12, 1918 in Lowell, MA. He and his family moved to Fresno, CA at a young age. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1939 and served until 1943. While stationed at Drew Field in Tampa, he met Connie Lazzara, whom he married in 1949. They were married for 40 years before she preceded him in death. A sister, Elizabeth Pazeian, also preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughters; Joyce Gibbs and husband Thomas of Tampa, Janice Schrupp and husband Loren of Choctaw, OK; 5 grandchildren; David Schrupp and wife Lisa, Jonathan Schrupp and wife Melissa, Jennifer Reeves and husband Michael, and Joseph and Spencer Schrupp, all of Oklahoma. He is also survived by two sisters, Virginia Ruby and Violet Jamgochian, both of Fresno, CA., and 3 great grandchildren; Samantha, Colby, Jonathan Schrupp, and many nieces and nephews. Fred was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, lifetime member of the Sherife Association of West Tampa, and the West Tampa Lions Club. Fred was a tile setter by trade before going to work for the United States Postal Service in downtown Tampa as a mail handler. He contributed to the relocation of the Post Office to the Tampa International Airport in 1971 where he worked until his retirement last August 2005, at the age of 86, for a total of 48 years of distinguished service. The family will receive friends for Visitation Thursday, December 28, 2006 between 7 and 9 PM at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 North Armenia Avenue, Tampa. Services will be Friday, December 29, 2006 at the funeral home at 10 AM followed by Entombment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
