Augustus "Al" Alvarez's Obituary
ALVAREZ, Augustus “Al”, 84, a lifelong Tampa resident born in Ybor City, passed away May 29, 2015. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Aurelio, Albert, and Armando, and sister Aurora Vega. Al is survived by Evangeline, his wife of 62 years, children: Yolanda Gonzalez (Alan), Albert “Tiko” Alvarez, Manuel “Manny” Alvarez, Benjamin “Benny” Alvarez, grandchildren: Albert ”Al” Alvarez, Kelley McDonald (Kelly), Carly Newman (Aaron), Benjamin “Ben” Alvarez, great granddaughter Zaydee, brother Arthur Alvarez (Beva), an extended family and numerous friends. As a young man, Al proudly served his country as a United States Marine. Al was a plumber and pipe fitter by trade. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2015, with military honors at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 S.W. 102nd Ave., Bushnell, Florida 33513.
