Ashley Leanne Torres' Obituary
Ashley Leanne Torres, 23 received her angel wings on June 28, 2018. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born in Tampa, she made her home in Land O’Lakes, Florida. Ashley graduated from Land O’ Lakes High School in 2013. Following high school, she attended Pasco-Hernando State College and was currently enrolled at the University of South Florida in pursuit of a Behavioral Science degree. She worked at AchieveAbility Therapy where she was an Applied Behavioral Analyst, working with autistic children.
Ashley lived her life to the fullest every single day. A devoted and beloved daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter and girlfriend.
Her passion was going to Walt Disney World. She loved to see the smiles on children as they discovered how magical being there really was. She will always be a Disney Princess.
Ashley was a beautiful, caring soul. She loved her family and friends, a true social butterfly. A loving free spirit with an infectious laugh. Her smile would light up a room whenever she entered. A spiritual savior to many and a blessing to all. A kind-hearted selfless person. Because of her love to help others, the family made the selfless decision to donate Ashley’s organs. Her gift of life has already saved many including a 1-year old baby and a 56-year-old woman. The outcome of something so tragic was in the end the most beautiful act of love.
We will never understand why God took her so early in life. We are still in disbelief and heartbroken with her sudden passing. Our lives will never be the same. We pray God will provide us peace to continue life without her. We take comfort in knowing we will see our Ashley once again in Heaven.
The family would like to thank St Joseph Hospital’s ICU, the loving doctors and nurses, especially Joanna, Leo and Carey along with Life Link’s Charlene and Marti. Your compassion and empathy during this difficult time will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her loving family; her parents Hector and Grace Torres, her twin sister Leslie Cutrofello (Anthony) and sister Lizzete Fuglesang (Jason), brother Godfrey Pestana (Veronica), grandmother Eloisa Valdivia. Nieces and nephews Taylor, Kaylee, Dylan, Logan and Josephine. A loving boyfriend, Eric Vonckx and her fur babies Pancho and Mia Bella. Many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The Torres Family will receive family and friends at St. Lawrence Catholic Church located at 5525 North Himes Ave, Tampa, Florida 33614 on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 11:00am to 12:30. A catholic mass at 12:30 followed by A Celebration of Ashley’s life at Higgins Hall (same location) until 5:00pm.
