Armando Gonzalez's Obituary
Armando Gonzalez, 98, was escorted by his Lord and savior, Jesus Christ to be with his loving bride of 77 years Isabel, with his family by his side. Armando served honorably with the US Army Air Force WWII, Sr. enlisted NCO, B29 Squadron, Karachi India 1942-1945. He served as an Honorary Mayor of Ybor City 1958-1959. Armando was very instrumental in helping many members of his Family to escape Cuba in the early 60’s. He was a very successful entrepreneur throughout his life, owning and operating many very successful businesses. He passed down to many generations, his knowledge and work ethics, along with his love and support of all of his family. He was a true patriarch. Armando worked well into his 90’s doing what he loved most, working with family and being so very proud of his families’ accomplishments. He was a man of very few words, so when he spoke there was always a life’s lesson to be learned. He was teaching 5 generations of his family at all times. To know him was to know a truly honorable man, who’s word was his bond, was always a gentleman and his family always came first! His large smile was always showing what was deep in his heart, the true love for his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving bride Isabel Gonzalez and great-granddaughter Ariane Gonzalez. Survived by Ronald A Gonzalez, Sr., son, Janel (Mark) Derrah, daughter, Charles Smith, foster son. Grandchildren; Richard E (Latisha), Ronald A Jr and Robert M Gonzalez, Bryan M (Beverly) Derrah, Lindsay E (Jason) Lopez. Great-Grandchildren Kaleigh (Justin) Lamar, Julia and Brody Gonzalez, Jordan Gonzalez, Julian, Trent and Ashlyn Derrah, Mia and Cruz Lopez. Great-Great Grandchildren Emily Lamar, Sebastain Gonzalez and Josiah Pino. And all the many nieces and nephews, cousins, family members and dear friends that loved him so very much.
All of our hearts are at peace because we know how much you loved everyone and how loved you were. Rest gently Dad, Lelo, Tio Mandi, Armando until we see you again. You will always be an inspiration to us all. While our hearts might be broken, your legacy will continue to live amongst us.
Your loving family!
