Armando A. Garcia's Obituary
Armando A. Garcia, 86, beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 28th 2012.He was a devoted husband of 66 years to his wife Lydia until her passing in 2011. They were each other's first and only loves and their relationship was a shining light and example to their entire family. He was a wounded combat veteran of WW11 and received the Purple Heart Medal. After being hospitalized in France he came home to recover, then began a career in the cigar industry at Cuesta Rey Cigar Factory in West Tampa. His passion for cigar machinery led him into designing and engineering, and he became a master mechanic. In 1964 he was hired as District Manager for AMF ( American Machine and Foundry) traveling throughout all of Latin America setting up factories and training mechanics. His career spanned 67 years, his experience and ingenuity making him sought after by many companies. He put the finishing touches on his career working as a consultant with his friends at J C Newman Cigar Co., doing what he loved. His faith, family, friends and work were always his top priorities, and he will be remembered and missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his two sons Raul (Elaine) and Bruce (Cathy); grandchildren Adam (Christina), Jasmin (Michael) and Tania; great grandchildren, Isabella, Armando John and Sofia. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at Boza & Roel Funeral Home located at 4730 N. Armenia Ave. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday at Boza & Roel with entombment to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 E. Lake Ave. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to a favorite charity.
