Armando Corces' Obituary
CORCES, Armando A., 96, passed away Friday, July 6th, 2012. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years Helen A. Corces. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy H. Lamson and husband John, son James A. Corces and wife Noreen; 4 grandchildren, Melinda Marotta and husband Ray, Michael Lamson, Alex Corces and wife Erica, Max Corces; great grandson Ayden Corces; many nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Corces,a lifetime resident of Tampa, was born in Ybor City and was a graduate of Hillsborough High School. He served in the U.S. Army, 398th Engineer Battalion during WWII in England and Europe. For 32 years he was the owner & operator of Corces Suprex Market in Seminole Heights with his brother Gumersindo (Jack) Corces. They were both original members of the Florida Retail Owned Grocers Association. He was a member of the North Tampa Lions Club for over 25 years and served as president from 1980-81. During retirement he volunteered with Meals on Wheels and pursued his hobby of woodworking. His wonderful smile and warmth will be missed by his family and friends. The family will receive friends for Visitation Wednesday, July 11, 2012 between 10 and 11 AM at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 North Armenia Avenue, followed by services at 11 AM at the funeral home and Interment at Centro Espanol Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
