Antoinette Scaglione's Obituary
Antoinette A. Scaglione, 90, of Tampa passed away on Friday, August 30.
She was born to the late Michael Albanese and Fonda in Astoria, NY. She grew up there, finishing her school and even working as a seamstress for Bali Bras, which is still around today. She met her husband, Christopher Scaglione, while he was on leave in NY with the United States Navy. They married and moved to Florida, where he was originally from. She was a faithful volunteer to her many community organizations, especially those that worked with veterans, and was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxillary Post 248 and The Sons of Italy Lodge. She also loved to play cards with her grandkids, and during idle times she could always be found with her Word Searches. Even though it got harder later on, she always enjoyed making Italian Christmas Cookies for her family, which became a tradition for her every year. She was a huge Rays fan, loved Classic Musicals, Red Lobster (especially the biscuits), and grilled shrimp from Longhorn’s.
In addition to her parents, Antoinette was preceded in death by her husband, Christopher Scaglione; brothers, Mike Matterse and Angelo Albanese; and sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Leone and Clara Napolitano.
She is survived by her children, Michael C. Scaglione (Sandra), Anthony E. Scaglione, Maria Keske, and Christine Elam; grandchildren, Christopher P. Scaglione (Nina), Stephanie M. Casale (Nicholas), Ashley M. Pippin, Michael C. Keske (Rebecca); Bryan W. Keske, Joseph C. Scaglione, and Katherine L. Scaglione; great grandchildren, Jaxon Scaglione, Timmy Pippin, Sheila Keske, and Ethan Keske; brother, Vincent A. Albanese; and her beloved companion, Bubba.
A visitation will be held 6-8 PM Thursday, September 5 at Boza and Roel Funeral Home. Mass will be 10 AM Friday, September 6 at Christ The King Catholic Church with Burial to follow at Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family would like to invite friends to Relevant Church after the Burial to Celebrate Antionette’s life.
