Mrs. Anna Bell Cassels' Obituary
CASSELS, Anna Bell, 89, of Tampa passed away March 14, 2009. She was born November 26, 1919 in Slater, MO, and grew up there as one of nine children. Her parents stressed family, hard work, education, and God. After high school, she moved to Warrensburg, MO and received her undergraduate degree from Central Missouri State Teacher's College. Later in life she returned to Central Missouri State and earned her master's degree in Library Sciences. Her life was centered on serving God, her family, and helping others. She moved to Tampa in 1946. Three years after moving here she became a founding member of Wellswood Baptist Church and remained an active member there until her death. She taught school at Oak Park Elementary for 28 years, was active in the Democratic Women's Club, volunteered to work with the International Students program at USF, and twice served as a missionary to Brazil. She enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening, and traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband Fielding T. Cassels. She is survived by her son, Paul Cassels, daughters, Carol-Ann Haggerty and Margaret Proctor, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Friday at Wellswood Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8PM at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa, FL.
