Angel Luis Carde's Obituary
Angel, 79, parted with the Lord on Saturday evening, July 2nd, amongst his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and dearest family and friends. Angel was born to Confesor Cardé and Ana Diaz on June 18th, 1943, in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico. He continued to live there with his family until he was 18 years of age and then moved to Stamford, CT with his older brother, Israel, and his sister-in-law, Zoraida (“Tata”). It was at a church in Connecticut where he met Carmen, his lovely wife of 57 years. Even though he left Puerto Rico at an early age, his heart continued to remain on the island his whole life. Angel loved the outdoors, playing dominoes, listening, and dancing to music, and making his family and friends happy. He loved to grow fruits and vegetables with his “green thumb” and loved to share them with his neighbors; every seed he planted became a tree. Some of his favorite pastimes include fishing in the ocean and talking about baseball. He enjoyed the New York Mets and Tampa Bay Rays and listened to Baseball the Grande Ligas. Angel and Carmen raised their four children on Long Island, New York and in 1988 moved to Tampa, FL. Angel worked at the Marriott Hotel until 1998 when he retired. His family also has fond memories of him driving around in his Ice Cream Truck during the summers. Among his many talents, Angel was also an excellent commercial painter and talented cook. Even though he was retired, he always had projects to do and was considered a “Mr. Do It” with great ideas and suggestions to help others. He was a Godly man and an exemplary giver with a heart to serve others. Despite his recent physical challenges, he always had a word of encouragement. He loved to fellowship, especially after church services, and his favorite spot was Ruby Tuesday’s, though he would say “Wednesday’s”. There are many cherished memories, including his last days where he was able to travel and visit new places.
Angel is survived by his loving wife Carmen; his four children Luis, Yolanda, Rosemarie, and Teresa; his 8 grandchildren; 5 soon-to-be adopted grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his brother Israel; his 5 sisters, Delia, Nelida, Elba, Judy, and Doris; and his two faithful companions Chip and Brownie.
Angel will forever be missed, and we look forward to the day when we will once again be reunited. Until then we celebrate Angel's beautiful life and embrace his ongoing legacy, a legacy of love, family, and joy, that’s now and forever impressed amongst every life he touched. With love, Rest in Gods forever Peace.
