Amelia "Mimi" Pellegrino's Obituary
PELLEGRINO, Amelia “Mimi”, 90, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 16, 2017. She was born on July 25, 1926 in New Orleans, LA to the late Anthony Maenza and Alice Ouillié Maenza. Mimi started the Social Services Department at St Joseph Hospital where she headed the department for over 25 years. Later in life she enjoyed a career as a model. Mimi loved life; traveling, dancing, entertaining, and being loved by her husband who spoiled her for 65 years. She is preceded in death by husband John whom she loved and son Victor J Pellegrino whom she was so proud of. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Diane Guerra (JD), Irene Matye (Brian); grandchildren, Dana Gonzalez (Frank), Jason Guerra (Sheila), Stephanie Sweeney (Dave), Victor Pellegrino (Wendy), John Pellegrino ( Chelsa); great grandchildren, Ciera, Maresa, Miranda, Giavonna, Gabriella, Christina, Kaelyn, Meghan, Bella, Julius, Banks, Ellis; siblings, Mary Bauman, Alice Rose Giroir, Anthony Maeza. The family will receive friends, 6- 8 pm, Tuesday, March 21, at Boza and Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N Armenia Ave, Tampa. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 am, Wednesday, March 22 at St Paul Catholic Church , 12708 N Dale Mabry, Hwy, Tampa, 33618. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, Tampa.
