Alvin McCray's Obituary
Alvin McCray was born, on August 20, 1951, in Manning South Carolina to the late Rev. Albertus (Bert) McCray and the late Elizabeth Brown-McCray. Alvin died peacefully on February 8th, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital North.
Alvin successfully graduated from Miami Killian Senior High School in 1970. Shortly after graduation, Alvin joined the Army and later honorable discharged. Alvin was an inventor, business owner, a giver, and author. He not only served his country but served the community. Anyone who knew Alvin knew that he loved his family, friends, and the family members of his friends. Alvin was actively involved in his community. He was a member of Kiwanis Club of Pinellas Park, Son of the Confederate Veterans, and the Tampa Tiger Bay Club.
Alvin leaves to cherish his memories: Lifelong partner Chelsea Bridges of 29 years, Tampa, Florida; Children: Angela Moss-Poole (Corey), Angela McCray, Ashley William-Stanley (Isaiah), and Kayla, Coleton Wright; One grandson: Michael Poole; Two sisters: Joanna McCray, Columbia, South Carolina; Bernette Beckles (Anthony) Lynchburg, Virginia; Four Brothers: Jerome McCray (Jackie) Lynchburg, Virginia, H. Mike McCray (Esther), Dallas, Georgia, Calvin McCray (preceded in death) Clearwater, Florida and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
