Alvin Fugate's Obituary
FUGATE, Alvin, 82, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017. He served in the USAF for 20 years as a Parachute Rigger. He was also a Vietnam War Veteran. He served in France, Thailand, Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio and MacDill AFB where he retired as a Tech Sergeant. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather he is survived by his wife, Claudette Fugate and her children Diana Reese and Steven Mason; children Barbara Howard and her husband, Bill; Janet Fugate; Michael Fugate and his wife, Stacy: grandchildren, Leah Spencer; James Thomas; Ann Tomlinson; Jennifer Fugate; Pamela Hixenbaugh; Christina Iasevoli; Travis Fugate; Shelby Fugate; Savannah Fugate Norwood, and Victoria Fugate: 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered for his passion for life and his wit and humor. He was known as "Poppy" to hundreds of people and will sadly be missed by all. The family will receive friends Saturday September 16, 2017 from 2pm – 3pm with a service beginning at 3pm at Boza and Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N Armenia Ave, Tampa, FL 33603. Interment will be at 11:30 am, Monday September 18, 2017 at Florida National Cemetery with full military honors.
