Fernandez, Albert G., 95
Mr. Fernandez was a Tampa native and peacefully passed away at home on 10/25/2020. He was born to Eugene Fernandez of Tampa and Natalia Arenas Fernandez, a native of Asturias, Spain. He was raised in Ybor City and attended OLPH Catholic School, and Jesuit High School class of 1943. After High School, he entered the Navy, serving on the USS Raby, and was a WW2 Veteran. He attended Spring Hill College in Alabama and later graduated from Florida State University, where he received his degree in Accounting.
He was a Comptroller with Perfecto-Garcia Brothers Cigar Company until they closed in 1982.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Emily Almeyda Fernandez and a beloved daughter, Roberta Fernandez Allison.
He is survived by his daughter, Joyce Martinez (Danny), Grandsons Daniel Martinez III (Alicia), William Allison, Drew Martinez (Jessica) and his Great-grandson, Dean Thomas Martinez. Sister Geraldine Richardson (Charles) of Altamonte Springs, Florida and brother Robert Fernandez (Ann) of White Plains, NY, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered for his love of his family, and College Football.
He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
The family would like to thank his loving care-givers, Yaima Sanday, Beatriz Gamboa and Yusimi Gil.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, 10/31/2020 at 10:00 am at Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
