Mrs. Aida More's Obituary
More, Aida Cuyar, 95, lifelong resident of Tampa, passed away peacefully April 16, 2009 following a brief illness. The daughter of Maria and Sacramento Cuyar, Mrs. More lived in the same West Tampa home her entire life, which began August 25, 1913. She graduated from Hillsborough High School and business school before marrying Anthony more, co-owner of La Segundo Central Bakery. They lived with her parents and raised their two children. Mrs. More was a devoted caretaker to her parents, her husband, her brother, children and grandchildren as well as the rest of her family and friends. Her home and her family were the center of her life. She was renowned for her cooking skills that included black beans and rice, spaghetti with meat balls and daily soups, anything served with a fresh loaf of Cuban bread. A favorite pastime was reading and she was always looking for a new book or newspaper to enjoy. Teaching her grandchildren to play dominoes, cook and speak Spanish were some of her greatest joys; she and Abuelo made sure to host a family reunion every summer at the beach. We will live each day trying to practice for example. Mrs. More was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Anthony; her brother, Albert Cuyar and her beloved daughter, Mary Lynne More Ziegler. She is survived by her son, Anthony Albert More (judy0 of Tampa and son-in-law, Robert L. Ziegler, Louisville, KY; grandchildren: Jennifer Stauffer (Dr. Marc), Suzanne Paul (Edward), A. Copeland More (Stephanie), Valerie Ziegler, Lissa Ziegler (fiance, Sean Rogers) and Linlee Ziegler; great grandchildren: Grady, Henry and Davis Stauffer and Katie and James Paul. The family acknowledges the loving and devoted care Mrs. More received at The Abigail Assisted living the last two years and appreciates the kind attention of Dr. Stephen Kreitzer and Dr. Marc Stauffer during her final days. Interment will take place at Centro Asturiano Memorial Park, 2:00 PM on Monday, April 20. A memorial services will take place at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 21 at Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church, 3501 West San Jose Street lead by Rev. John DeBevoise, Pastor.
