Adela Prendes' Obituary
Adela Prendes of Tampa passed away April 25, 2026 at the age of 104. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved cooking for her family and tending her manicured lawn. She was born in Tampa to a Spanish father and Sicilian mother who immigrated to Ybor City to work in the cigar industry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, and her infant grandson, Robert John; her brothers, Benny Garcia and Joe Salaverria and her parents, Jose Garcia and Angelina Cagnina Garcia. She is survived by her grandchildren, Stephen Tamargo (Cheryl), Kathy Sanders (Tony), and Kenny Tamargo (Jackie); her daughter, Vilma Tamargo (Rene) and great-grandchildren, Ava and Jacob Sanders and Emily and Felipe Tamargo. Also many nieces and nephews and their families.
Flowers will be accepted or a donation to St. Jude's will be appreciated instead.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 1st at 12:00 PM at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 North Armenia Ave., Tampa with visitation held from 11:00-12:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow at Centro Asturiano Memorial Park, Tampa.
