Frances Pardo Andersen

Frances Pardo Andersen, 85, of Tampa, passed away April 14, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Frances was born and raised in Tampa, Florida with her roots in Ybor City. She graduated with honors from Jefferson High School in 1955. She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio (Tony) Pardo and Rosalia (Lily) Pullara Pardo; her loving and devoted husband of 54 years Paul R. Smith Andersen; her brother, James (Jimmy) Anthony Pardo and sister-in-law, Angie LoPrestie Pardo; and grand-daughter, Meghan K. Andersen. She is survived by her children, Denice (Joseph Moreda III), Keith Andersen, Kimberly (Andrew L. Arena); grandchildren, Ashley Andersen, Ryan Arena, Danielle Moreda, Jillian Arena, and Jacqueline Moreda; great-grandchild, Giuseppe Andrew Cali; and many other family members and friends. She worked in the finance field for over 43 years prior to retiring from Bank of America. She placed special emphasis on family and the preservation of her Italian heritage. Frances had a passion for history and traveling. Her life was deeply enriched by her momentous adventures with her family and friends. She was an avid sports fan and found great joy in coaching or cheering on her children and grandchildren at their sports games all around the country. She was extremely loyal to her favorite sports teams, especially the ‘Noles, Rays, and Bucs and rarely missed a game. She was a devoted caregiver for many of her loved ones and selflessly gave her time to those in need around her. She treasured her friendships, old and new. Her wit and fiery/one-of-kind sense of humor kept people laughing. She was a past member of the Lady Civitan’s, Tampa Bay Area Women’s Club, Make A Wish Foundation-Tampa Chapter, founding member of H.O.P.E. Charity, Les Femmes, Mystique, and Bunco Babes. Frances leaves her mark as a strong, determined, and compassionate woman that many looked up to. Frances will be dearly missed by her family and many friends; however her legacy will live on for years to come. She will leave us with us with many wonderful memories that we will hold close to our hearts forever. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church Saturday, May 21st, at 12:00pm with visitation one hour before. Father Tamil will celebrate the funeral Mass, followed by a private interment at L’Unione Italiana Cemetery. A special thank you to Dr. Yon K. Peter Park and Dr. Jack Qilin Lu for their medical guidance, extraordinary dedication, and support during her illness.
