It is with great sadness that the family of David Thorpe announces his passing on February 7, 2022, in Tampa. David was born on August 8, 1959, in Pontiac, Michigan. David was predeceased by his parents Willis Fay Thorpe and Lena Rivers Thorpe. He was the beloved husband of his loving wife of 28 years, Linda A. Thorpe; Children: Joseph David Thorpe (Jennifer), Christina Marie Farar (Clark), Cladi Louis Rosario, Jr., and Melissa Ann Holovach (Matt); Grandchildren: Randy, Daphne, Gabrielle, Emmi, Fae, Richard, Robert, Henry, Aiden, Ava, Alexander, Ashton. Brothers: James Russell Coomer (Debbie), Glen Thorpe (Jean). Sisters: Vanessa Cramer (Chris), Yvonne Adams (Gary); nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. David received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, Cum Laude honors (1988). Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan. David attended Stetson University College of Law, in St. Petersburg, Florida, Juris Doctorate (1996). He has been a practicing attorney since May 6, 1997. David established The Thorpe Law Firm, P.A. in April 2005. David was a member of The Florida Bar, North Tampa Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association, and Better Business Bureau (BBB). David was also an active member of the Gasparilla Distance Classic Association. David enjoyed playing the guitar, restoring and driving older model cars, avid Beatles fan, American history buff, boating, scuba diving, playing golf, enjoyed antiquing and bidding against the other bidder, and gardening. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Many parties were hosted at their home but the one David truly enjoyed was the Chili Cooking Contest. The family thanks everyone for their words of comfort and their beautiful comments about David. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. God bless David as he will be missed by all of us.
